Dapps / Where do I find information on making a website based on ETC?
« Last post by sr_urbanist on June 27, 2017, 03:19:08 AM »
I'm curious what it would take to build a website within the ETC interface.  It could be pretty cool to somehow to help small businesses start partnerships.  One could lock in the share percentages without it being changed. One could even work out payments and it'd be easier to audit.

Looking at the district level, one could create a type of TIF (Tax Increment Financing) district to improve small business corridors or nodes. One could distribute the funds based on a DAO-type model.  I would like to learn about how to begin getting into the ETC code.

I appreciate any suggestions. Thanks!

I am happy to see somebody else is on here discussing ETC.

Do you know of any decent guides on the software portion of ETC mining?  Thanks!
General Discussion / Re: Why do you like ETC?
« Last post by sr_urbanist on June 27, 2017, 03:05:56 AM »
I am drawn to ETC because it:
  • has community values
  • has a proposed cap (which I would like to learn more about)
  • decentralized?
  • listed OTC for qualified investors
  • does not have the ICOs (it would be nice if could be discouraged)
  • DAO & DAPP

Right now ... I feel like it's an underdog just sitting in the shadows ready to pounce.

Hi all!

It doesn't look like there has been much activity on here for a while, but I am happy to be here and hope to have discussions with others.

General Discussion / Withdrawing pre-DAO fork funds from a wallet contract?
« Last post by ialkeilani on April 17, 2017, 02:47:55 PM »

I'm in a bit of a struggle and would apprecieat help from any1 on this.

I had pre-DAO fork coins in a smart wallet (set up on Mist).  I would like to withdraw them but I cannot get the freaking mist application to sync the blockchain!  It is excruciatingly slow!  I even tried syncing from the geth client executing it with --oppose-dao-fork switch using a VPN to ensure it's not my ISP filtering out P2P traffic. Also enabled forwarding port 30303...still very slow sync.  Been running for 3 weeks already and I'm only up to block 2 million something

So I decided to change approach and interact with my wallet contract using the contract tool provided via

I'm not sure what value should go in the "_value" field?  I thought that was for the amount to be withdrawn so I put '1' for 1 ether but the transaction posted on the blockchain with 0 ether.  What am I missing?  Can someone please guide me through this?  Any help would be greatly appreciated
